  • Note:
/ CH: As self-employed spouses/ partners without employees (SPEMPREL code 2) were filtered out, they are coded on code 2 in SPWRKSUP (no supervision) in retrospect.
/ CN: High number of missing values, as SPWRKSUP was only asked of respondents whose spouse or partner is currently in paid work, i.e. only in the case where their partner or spouse is engaged in non-agriculture work.
/ DK: Spouses/ partners working self-employed with employees were not asked about their supervising function resp. about being responsible for the work of others. Instead, they were encoded to code 1 'YES' in SPWRKSUP from the Danish ISSP team.
/ SR: Info for spouses/ partners currently not in paid work, paid work in the past (SPWORK=2) not available.
/ US: The US data capture all spouse variables regardless of habitation status. In contrast, the US data only capture the variables of cohabiting partners, but not information from non-cohabiting partners.
/ US: This question is only asked if spouse/ [cohabiting] partner is currently working. (en)
