  • Note:
/ CN: High number of missing values, as agricultural work is not counted as paid work and both, people who are currently working in agriculture but have never done non-agricultural work in the past just like respondents who are currently unemployed and have never done non-agricultural work in the past, were filtered out before the above question was asked. Their missing answers are included in code -9 'No answer'.
/ DE: In order to protect individual respondents from data disclosure it was necessary to combine some original 4 digit-categories before data publication, thereby coarsening the information.
/ FR: French classification of the occupations and the socio-professional categories (PCS 2003) used, then transferred into ISCO 2008.
/ HR: It was an open-ended question which then was coded into ISCO08 codes by the research team.
/ NO: Data from the open-ended questions in the survey are missing for respondents who completed the survey on paper. The data material has been anonymized and therefore, this information is no longer retrievable (N=704 out of 728 respondents who answered the survey by paper).
/ NO: As source code, the Norwegian standard classification of occupations 2008 (STYRK-08) - based on the International Standard Classification of Occupations 2008 (ISCO-08) - has been used. Some insufficiently described occupations may have been coded with -9 'No answer' instead of code -8 'Don't know, inadequately described'.
/ NZ: Asked as free text and coded manually to ISCO08.
/ SR: Open question, verbatim answers were coded into ISCO88, then transferred into ISCO08.
/ US: US Census 2010 codes recoded to ISCO08. (en)
