When you are temporarily not working due to sickness, giving birth, parental leave, palliative leave, leave for medical assistance of a sick family member, please consider your normal work routine.
BE-WAL: What is your work situation?
CH: Are you currently working for pay, or did you work for pay in the past? Let me just check: are you currently or did you work in the past for your own family's business?

  • Note:
By work we mean doing incomeproducing work, as an employee, self employed or working for your own family’s business, for at least one hour per week. If you temporarily are not working for pay because of temporary illness/ parental leave/ vacation/ strike
etc, please refer to your normal work situation.

/ CZ: It is common in the Czech context to take advantage of a relatively long maternity (28 weeks) and parental (until child turns 3) leave, therefore persons on maternity/parental leave were not treated as economically active unless they are simultaneously working for pay for at least one hour per week.
/ ES (Code 5): Leave of absence for sickness or permanently disabled should say PERMANENT leave of absence or permanently disabled. As it is, it puts together those who are out of work because of a temporary absence for sickness and those permanently disabled. Therefore, there may be working people who are classified as nonworking.
