?:abstract	Die vorliegenden Daten sollen die Bevölkerungsstruktur der kreisfreien Städte und Kreise für das Gebiet Nordrhein-Westfalens darstellen. Vor allem mit Hilfe der Merkmalsausprägungen, die in der amtlichen Statistik nicht jährlich, sondern nur zu Zeiten umfassender Volkszählungen seit 1871 vorliegen, wird die Entwicklung der Bevölkerung auf dem Gebiet Nordrhein-Westfalens berichtet. Aufgrund der umfangreichen Gebietsänderungen in dem behandelten Zeitraum von 120 Jahren, die somit auch einen Zeitraum vor der Existenz des Bundeslandes erfassen, kommt den Anmerkungen eine besondere Bedeutung zu. Die Anmerkungen vor allem zu den Gebietsänderungen sind aufgrund des erheblichen Umfangs in der Studienbeschreibung und als downloadbare PDF-Datei beigefügt. Hinweis auf zusätzliche Studien: Es folgen noch Daten zur Religionszugehörigkeit der Bevölkerung, nach Haushalten und Haushaltsgrößen, Daten zur Erwerbsttätigenstruktur nach wirtschaftlicher Gliederung für die Stadt- und Landkreise. In der bereits vorliegenden Studie ZA8681 (´Historische Entwicklung der kreisfreien Städte und Kreise und Ihrer Bevölkerung) wird die historische Flächen- und Gebietsentwicklung mit Schwerpunkt auf Bestandsdauer, Zuordnung von Gebieten sowie der Größe der Stadt- und Landkreise betrachtet. In diesem Zusammenhang wird die Einwohnerzahl nach der Verwaltungsgliederung wiedergegeben. Die Daten der vorliegenden Studie (ZA8682) sind in HISTAT unter dem Thema Bevölkerung zu finden und beziehen sich auf folgende Regierungsbezirke mit ihren Stadtkreisen, kreisfreien Städten und Landkreise: 01 Regierungsbezirk Aachen 02 Regierungsbezirk Arnsberg 03 Regierungsbezirk Düsseldorf 04 Regierungsbezirk Köln 05 Regierungsbezirk Minden bzw. Detmold 06 Regierungsbezirk Münster 07 Gesamtgebiet bzw. NRW Folgende Themenbereiche werden in den Datentabellen zu jedem Regierungsbezirk behandelt: A. Gebiet und Bevölkerung B. Bevölkerung nach Altersgruppen C. Bevölkerung nach Altersgruppen und Geschlecht D. Bevölkerungsbewegung (Eheschließungen, Geburten, Todesfälle) E. Bevölkerung nach Familienstand und Geschlecht (de) The contents of the present study at hand are data on the population of the territory of North Rhine-Westfalia and its government district, counties and urban counties, and the district-free cities as well for the period of the beginning of the official statistics in 1871 until to 1970 or 1980. The German Land North Rhine-Westfalia was founded in 1946. The particular value of this data compilation is the part of the data report for the North Rhine-Westphalian territory which includes the period of the German Empire and therefore the time period before the existence of this German Country. However, the counties and urban counties and communities of North Rhine-Westphalia exists already since the beginning of the 19th century and earlier (most of them since 1800), and have a history of about 200 years. Therefore, the use of historical documents and official historical statistics of these communities and counties allow the report of continuous and regional differentiated historical development of the North Rhine-Westphalian territory. The author Harald Klaudat used the historical demarcations of the counties and municipalities and their changes in the course of the history to develop an exact retrospective statistical history of population and workforce development for the period from 1871 until 1970 and partly until 1980. The author created with this comprehensive data manual the option of linking long historical time series with results of census data of the present. Due to the extensive area changes in the period of 120 years covered, the comments are of particular importance. Because of the considerable scope of the study description, the comments, above all on the changes to the territorial boundaries, are attached as downloadable PDF-document. An indication of additional studies: Further studies on the North Rhine-Westphalian population´s religious affiliation, Population in households by household size, and the population´s workforce by economical sectors will be processed and offered via histat for the download. The already published data study za8681 with the title ´Historical Development of district-free cities and counties and their population´ focus on the historical development of the territory of the regions (period of existence, assignment of territories). The data of the study at hand (ZA8682) are offered via histat under the topic ´Population´ (=Bevölkerung).
