Note:
/ CH: As self-employed without employees (EMPREL code 2) were filtered, they are recoded on category 2 in WRKSUP (no supervision). / CN: High number of missing values, as agricultural work is not counted as paid work and both, people who are currently working in agriculture but have never done non-agricultural work in the past just like respondents who are currently unemployed and have never done non-agricultural work in the past, were filtered out before the above question was asked. Their missing answers are included in code -9 'No answer'. / DK: Respondents working self-employed with employees were not asked about having a managerial function. Instead they were encoded to code 1 'YES' in WRKSUP from the Danish ISSP team. / FR: Respondents working for their own family's business were not asked if they supervise anyone. / HU: The question was not addressed to all professional groups, this could be the reason why the number of respondents with a supervising function is lower in Hungary than in the other countries. / NZ: The order of the questions in the questionnaire was MAINSTAT/ WORK, WRKHRS, ISCO08, WRKSUP, NSUP, TYPORG2, TYPORG1, EMPREL. / US: The quesiton on WRKSUP is only asked if the respondent is currently working. If that is not the case, the question on SPWRKSUP is asked instead (see SPWRKSUP), provided the spouse/ partner is currently working and the respondent is married and/ or living with the partner.
