    This variable holds a unique identification number for each respondent including the ISSP module year (first 4 digits: 2019), the ISO 3166 country code (next 5 digits: for countries without subsamples starting with 00 plus the three digits for the country code, for countries with subsamples starting directly with the three digits country code supplemented by an appendix two digits long) and the original identification number of the respondents (the last 7 digits), making an identification number of 16 digits in total.
