  • Note:
    / CH: Self-employed without employees were filtered online and correction for the respondents of the paper questionnaire version a posteriori - self-employed without employees are recoded on code 2 'No'.
    / ES: The Spanish questionnaire for ISSP 2018 includes an instruction for interviewers to make this question refer to the main wage earner in the household if the respondent has never worked (3 in WORK). These data are not included here.
    / IS: The word supervise would translate as yfirumsjón but the word mannaforráð is more fitting in this sense. The word yfirumsjón is used to clarify what is meant by with mannaforráð.
    / IS: Those who do/ did supervise other employees answered a second question embedded in this one. The second half is a question on the number of employees (see NSUP).
    / US: The original WRKSUP variable (WKSUP) is only asked of respondents currently in paid work.
