  • Note:
/ CH: Self-employed spouses/ partners working without employees were filtered online, for respondents' of the paper questionnaire version whose spouses/ partners are working without employees correction a posteriori - self-employed without employees are recoded on code 2 'No'.
/ US: During the interview, respondents were asked the same question regardless of partner or spouse, with a screener to modify question text. The US data capture all spouse variables regardless of habitation status. The US data, however, capture only information from partners if living together, and not information from non-cohabitating partners. In addition, in US data, this question is asked primarily of respondents, and only of spouses or [cohabiting] partners if the respondent does not work. This is not in line with ISSP standards, and as such produces a higher proportion of NA responses.
