  • In earlier versions of the master questionnaire, the response category 777 "nap" was missing. As a result, filter inconsistencies have occurred in some countries. The data has been corrected according to the filter statement in the Master Questionnaire: If the respondent lives alone (v240=1) and v241=age, v241=-3 'nap'. If the age mentioned in v241 is not equal/diff>1 repondent's age, cases have not been corrected.

Finland MAIL: The filter instruction was missing in the Field questionnaire used for the MAIL mode, so that all respondents living alone did answer v241. In this case, data was not corrected.

Albania, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Georgia, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland, Croatia, Iceland, Poland, Sweden, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro:
Content related inconsistencies: In few cases the person mentioned as the youngest in household is significantly older than the respondent himself (total n=168).

Content related inconsistencies: In some countries respondents stated their age or older for the youngest person in the household, although there are children living in household (total n=290). Countries reported some difficulties in defining households and children to be counted to live in. This probably explains the inconsistencies related to number of children and household.

(de)
  • The European Values Study is a large-scale, cross-national and longitudinal survey research program conducted under the responsibility of the European Values Study Foundation since 1981. The cross-sectional surveys, repeated in a 9-year cycle, cover a broad range of topics on central areas of life such as work and leisure time, family and sexuality, religion, politics and ethics. The EVS holding includes integrated datasets on every EVS wave and, in addition, the national datasets for the 1999 and 2008 waves. Questions repeated at least twice in EVS, or EVS and WVS, are cumulated in the EVS Trend File. The EVS Trend File can easily be merged with the World Values Survey (WVS) Trend File into the Integrated Values Surveys Data File. (en)
