Weighting factor
No total weight usable for international comparison.
NATIONAL weighting procedures/ variables used for calculation of NATIONAL weights:
ID: Design weight to adjust for unequal selection probabilities. The population size for Indonesia was measured at 134,140,947 adults, aged 18 years and above in the 22 provinces, as per the 2005 Intercensal Population Survey. The data was weighted by gender within provinces parameter and urban/ rural within gender parameter. Collapsing some cells which have '0' sample was done based on urban/ rural level, assuming that those differences contribute the least variance on the data. Collapsing urban and rural data was done for Jambi, East Nusa Tenggara, and Central Sulawesi provinces. After that, weighting factors were applied into the data sets. TZ: Design weight to adjust for unequal selection probabilities. Since the sampling design is not a self-weighting one and that there is need to expand the ISSPREL 2008 survey data to the national level and estimate the parameters of the survey, it was necessary to apply sampling weights to the survey data. The sample design was deliberately skewed to the urban areas (from 23% to 35%). The main reason is the with a sample of 1500 respondents, a direct PPS between the urban and the rural areas would yield a very small sample yielding unstable results during the urban domain estimation. To correct for the urban and rural domain, post-stratification weights will be applied at the urban/ rural level so that results are read with 27:73 urban/ rural split (from 35:65 in the sample). The 27:73 split is for the urban/ rural distribution of the 18+ population. The urban/ rural weights will be calculated at the region level.
