    Split ballot: xr19, xr20, xr21 to xr24 (placement of questions)

    ALLBUS 2016 used a two-group split-ballot design to test for context effects with regard to the recruitment questions for the GESIS-Panel.
    In Split 1, the recruitment questions were asked directly after the conclusion of the ALLBUS-interview, i.e. before respondents were asked to fill in one of the additional ISSP-modules. In Split 2, the recruitment questions were only asked after respondents had either completed the ISSP-module or had refused to participate.

  • The German General Social Survey (ALLBUS) collects up-to-date data on attitudes, behavior, and social structure in Germany. Every two years since 1980 a representative cross section of the population is surveyed using both constant and variable questions.
