    Split ballot: mp15a (alternate wording)

    ALBUS 2016 used a two-group split-ballot design to test different versions of a question on the estimated percentage of foreigners living in the respondents’ neighbourhood.
    Split 1 fielded a closed question previously used in ALLBUS 1996 and 2006. Respondents were asked to choose one of four verbal descriptions of the relative proportion of foreigners in the neighbourhood. Split 2 fielded an open question asking respondents to give an estimate in percentage points.
    As the question used in split 2 has not been replicated yet, it has not been included in this data set. The relevant data can instead be found in mp15b in ZA5250.

  • The German General Social Survey (ALLBUS) collects up-to-date data on attitudes, behavior, and social structure in Germany. Every two years since 1980 a representative cross section of the population is surveyed using both constant and variable questions.
