    Split-Ballot: Alternate Questions

    ALLBUS 2014 used a two-group split-ballot design to increase the total number of questions surveyed, i.e. each split-version of the questionnaire contained a number of alternate questions only surveyed in one split-half. Split 1 contained a previously surveyed item battery on ‘perceived prerequisites for success in society’, whereas split 2 fielded a newly developed item battery on ‘dimensions of social justice’.

    As the questions on ‘dimensions of social justice’ have not been replicated yet, only the item battery on ‘perceived prerequisites for success in society’ is part of this cumulated data set.

  • The German General Social Survey (ALLBUS) collects up-to-date data on attitudes, behavior, and social structure in Germany. Every two years since 1980 a representative cross section of the population is surveyed using both constant and variable questions.
