Comment:
In 1982 this variable was surveyed as part of a split questionnaire (comp. splt82).

Note:
The questions concerning the importance of various job characteristics were asked in varying contexts and constellations in the original surveys:
- ALLBUS 1980 surveyed a list of 10 items (ja01 to ja10). The item sequence was randomized using shuffle cards.
- ALLBUS 1982 and ALLBUS 1991 surveyed an extended list comprising 13 items (ja01 to ja13). The item sequence was randomized using shuffle cards.
- ALLBUS 1992 and ALLBUS 2000 surveyed a subset of the extended list comprising 6 items (ja02, ja03, ja06, ja07, ja10 and ja11). The item sequence was randomized using shuffle cards.
- ALLBUS 2010 surveyed a list comprising 11 items (ja01 to ja11). A two-group split-ballot design was used to test different methods of randomizing the item sequence. In one split-half items were randomized using shuffle cards. In the other split-half the item sequence was randomized by the interview software. Variables ja01-ja11 contain the data for both split-halves. A corresponding split identifier has not been included in this data set. Users interested in the 2010 split-experiment are advised to refer to the original documentation and data.
