  • Derivation of data:
    The data in this variable was calculated using the data on net monthly household income (hhinc) and the number of household members (dh04).

    To calculate per capita income, the household income in hhinc was divided by the number of household members in dh04. The result was rounded to the nearest whole number.
    When there was no valid data for the number of household members, per capita income was coded as -32 ‘cannot be generated’.
    When there was no valid data on household income, per capita income was also coded as -32 ‘cannot be generated’.
    If the respondent reported a zero income (code -50 in hhinc), per capita income was coded as -50 ‘no income’.
