    The data in this variable was constructed based on the information in eastwest REGION OF INTERVIEW: WEST – EAST and dg10 PART OF GERMANY R LIVED IN WHEN YOUNG.

    Cases for which there was no valid information on the region of interview or the part of Germany the respondent lived in when young, were coded as -32 ‘cannot be generated’.

    If, according to dg10, the respondent did not live in Germany when young, dg03 was coded as -10 ‘not applicable’.

  • The German General Social Survey (ALLBUS) collects up-to-date data on attitudes, behavior, and social structure in Germany. Every two years since 1980 a representative cross section of the population is surveyed using both constant and variable questions.
