    Split-Ballot: Abortion

    ALLBUS 2012 used a two-group split-ballot design to test an updated item battery on attitudes towards abortion. The respondents in split 1 received the established item battery asking wether abortion should be legally permitted under various circumstances or not. In split 2, respondents were similarly asked if abortion should be legal under a number of circumstances. However, the updated question used a more differentiated response scale giving respondents the option to qualify their support for abortion taking into account how far into the pregnancy the supposed abortion would take place.

    The data of the two splits are stored in separate variables:
