Regulon clusters were found to overlap with expression subtypes: 89% of the tumors in regulon cluster 1 (R1) were luminal, 100% of the tumors in regulon cluster 2 (R2) were basal or stroma-rich, and regulon cluster 3 (R3) contained a mixture of expression subtypes (Fig. 4f).
