The 44 tumors of the FIRB cohort were obtained from BC patients treated with adjuvant chemotherapy between 1981 and 2002, after selection based on HER2 positivity by immunohistochemistry (IHC) (3+ or 2+) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) (only tested in IHC 2+) as potential targets of trastuzumab treatment.
