Measurements of Ucp2 transcripts (Figure 5(d)) and UCP2 protein (Figures 5(d)) in ASC revealed the higher expression in V-ASC than in S-ASC, which is consistent in V-ASC cells with a reduced pyruvate routing into the mitochondria, an elevated lactate secretion, and a majored role of glycolysis for ATP production.
