In particular, there was only one VM mouse scoring as clinically positive with no TSE vacuolation (PrP deposition was present) from the MV, compared to 47% with TSE vacuolation from the MM (spleen) and 54% with TSE vacuolation in previously-reported spleen transmissions from MM individuals (Ritchie et al., 2009).
