Consistent with the previous studies [5,40], B lymphocytes were rare in the normal kidney and memory B lymphocytes infiltrated the kidney in the first days after IRI; during the following weeks, B lymphocytes expanded massively and transcriptional analysis suggested a progressive switch to a plasma cell type (Fig. 4a, b).
