Of each renal allograft biopsy included in this study, at least half a core was immediately stored on Allprotect Tissue Reagent (Qiagen Benelux BV, Venlo, The Netherlands), and after incubation at 4 °C for at least 24 h and maximum 72 h, stored locally at −20 °C, until shipment to the Laboratory of Nephrology of the KU Leuven.
