As clinical epidemiological studies indicate that neuropsychiatric diseases with stress as a major etiology have a higher incidence in women, such as MDD, PTSD, and GAD, perhaps AD should be similarly thought of as a disease with an etiology based on stress, though probably to a lesser degree than for mood disorders.
