LncRNA actin filament-associated protein 1 antisense RNA 1 (AFAP1-AS1), a 6.8-kb lncRNA that is located in the chromosome 4p16.1, was initially identified by Wu et al. and was extremely hypomethylated and overexpressed in Barrett esophagus (BE) and esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) tissues and cells [15].
