A protease inhibitor cocktail and 5 mM phenylmethylsulfonylfluoride (PMSF) protease inhibitor (freshly prepared) were added to each sample, and then the cells were disrupted using a Precellys 24 bead beater (Bertin Technologies) three times for 30 s until clarification.
