However, the reported distortions by one of these two participants were not specific to the vicinity of the placeholder but extended throughout the entire visual display comprising also the right visual field (i.e. ipsi-laterally to TMS stimulation), which suggests that the reported distortions were not ‘authentic’ phosphenes.
