K-L divergence (DKL) was calculated on tetranucleotide frequencies for pairwise comparisons as DKL(g//G)=∑g(i)ln(g(i)/G(i))(1) where g is the parameter used (e.g., frequency of a particular tetranucleotide, i) for the analyzed gene and G the same parameter for a reference transposase gene or whole genome.
