Animals were housed individually in a controlled environment (i.e. an ambient temperature of 21±1°C, 12-h light/dark inverted cycle), maintained on a low-protein (10%) standard diet (SAFE A04, SAFE, Augy, France) and with ad libitum water, and they were handled daily for several weeks prior to the experimentation.
