The cell pellet was washed and stained with annexin V-FITC (Invitrogen, Molecular probes) in FACS buffer (150 mM NaCl, 3.7 mM KCl, 2.5 mM CaCl2, 1.2 mM MgSO4, 7.4 mM HEPES-NaOH, 1.2 mM KH2PO4, 0.8 mM K2HPO4) supplemented with 5% FCS) for 15 min according to the manufacturer's instructions.
