We used a Z test for proportions (independent groups) to compare rS among howler monkey samples collected in Los Tuxtlas and Uxpanapa, among samples from different species, between terrestrial and arboreal species in Uxpanapa, and between samples collected ≤2.5 km away from humans settlements and >2.5 km away.
