The inclusion criteria for the patients in this study were as follows: (a) in-patient; (b) acute onset of abdominal pain; (c) pancreatitis at first onset; (d) three-fold elevated amylase or lipase, excluding other causes of elevated enzymes; and (d) abdominal MRI examination.
