After harvesting the cells by centrifugation at 5000g at 21°C and washing them with distilled water, the wet cells were suspended in 0.1 M KH2PO4 buffer, pH 6.5, as a 20% (weight/volume) suspension and stirred at 23°C until they showed NADH oscillations.
