Rats arrived at the age of 21 days and were housed with food and water ad libitum in a colony room in the Division of Laboratory Animal Resources at the University of South Carolina, which was maintained at 21±2°C, 50±10% relative humidity and on a 12-h light/dark cycle with lights on at 07:00 AM.
