However, sex ratios were not different, either for a session (χ2 = 0.044 (LTI chicks); χ2 = 0.57 (C chicks); χ2 = 0.42(STI chicks), df = 1, p>0.30 for the three sessions): numbers of males and females were similar (mean sex ratio (N males/N females) = 1.02±0.08), or between the three sessions (χ2 = 0.97, df = 2, p>0.50).
