A cross-sectional study across 28 European Member States showed that amongst current and ex-smokers who ever tried to quit smoking, 10.6% attempted using e-cigarettes, and amongst those who tried to quit in the past 12 months, 43.6% tried to do so with e-cigarettes, suggesting rising popularity of e-cigarettes as a cessation method 16 .
