The year 2021 not only left the hangover of the so-called Covid-19 pandemic for Colombia: the longest, most consistent and effervescent social outburst, probably, in the entire republican history took place. The following text is the first of three articles, which aim to make a critical assessment of the social outbreak, in the perspective of a conjuncture analysis. This first document presents an introduction where we briefly review some of the contents of conjuncture analysis as a sociological method based on Marxist legacies, along with generalities of what happened in this short, but dense period, which was plagued by diverse and complex actors and demonstrations. Regarding the concrete conjuncture -social outburst 2021- the triggers are described from 1- the event, that is, the attempt of tax reform, the foreign debt, and corruption, and 2- a medium-term view, that is, the analysis in dialectical perspective of the conjuncture in a time located from the last decade of the 20th century, by including a brief review of the six rulers and eight governments of that period, especially those of Pastrana, Uribe, and Duque; The latter's main political features tending to the concentration of power, which are directly linked to the outbreak, are discussed. It closes with some questions, which serve as a hook for the next articles.
