?:abstract
  • NATO, by its Spanish acronym, is an organization of political-military cooperation created in the framework of the Cold War, which confronted two hegemonic world blocks, by representing two preponderant ideologies of the 20th century, capitalism and communism. After the symbolic "defeat" of communism with the fall of the Berlin Wall (1989) and the dissolution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) (1991). This organization has been maintained as a space for negotiation by the world capitalist powers that "triumphed." Through this organization, wars and aggressions against other countries, such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, among others, have been promoted. Colombia, during most of its republican life, has been a Buffer State to stop regional political processes or to serve as a continental platform and of aggression against other states in Latin America and the world.
