?:about
?:abstract
  • This article presents a study conducted with 10 families belonging to the first phase of the Kangaroo Mothers Program of the Mother and Child Unit of Tolima in the city of Ibagué, whose objective was to understand the relationship between the categories of genealogical knowledge and parenting styles, and guidelines applied by them in the framework of the integral formation of their children. This research has a qualitative methodology with an interpretive hermeneutic approach, in which an in-depth interview and the elaboration of the genealogical tree were used. For the systematization and analysis of the information, the handmade triangulation matrices were used. The results show that there is a complementary relationship between the two research categories, and that this is determined by the affective links between the members of the family system, the historical-cultural context, and the characteristics of this system.
