PropertyValue
?:abstract
  • This contribution offers two scalings of one’s relation(s) to the self and to the world using the example of community building in collective eating and cooking settings. There are the subjective and bodily aspects of commensality on the one hand that relate to the world as an external point of reference. On the other hand, the global and social aspects of collective eating and cooking are defined as an item and element of social distinction. These two (amongst other possible) perspectives are not only parallel but are entangled with each other. This is reflected in the conclusion with regard to methodology in ethnographic (food) research. (xsd:string)
