?:abstract
  • This article describes the didactic training programme "Start! Tutor:innenqualifikation@UZH" of the University of Zurich (UZH) is presented and the importance of teaching skills in the study programme is analysed in terms of education and knowledge theory. At a traditional research university such as the UZH, didactic qualification is traditionally not part of basic teaching. This is typically outsourced to university didactic organisational units in areas close to administration. However, didactic skills are also becoming increasingly important as interdisciplinary competences at research universities. The course of study initiated by the university as a whole in the course of these developments is offered online and can be integrated into the curriculum. In this way, teaching skills can become part of the training already during the course of studies; this will lead to an increase in the quality of teaching at the tutorial level and potentially also to a greater appreciation and quality of university teaching in general. The focus here is on the teaching of knowledge as a constitutive element of research-based learning and the criticism of existing stocks of knowledge as a central learning goal of academic thinking and action.
