?:abstract
  • The objective of the present study was to identify the development of type c personality through processes of socialization that favour standard roles of gender as well as the relationship with breast cancer. Interviews and stories of life about diagnosed women with this disease were gathered using the interpretative method for the analysis of data. The results showed the relationship between the described elements, finding that the need for harmony is the prevailing element of this construct of personality that negatively impacts in practices of self-care such as breast self-examination and a timely medical checkup. Therefore, actions from a psychological perspective able to promote self-care practices, focus on the prevention of breast cancer, are proposed. (xsd:string)
