  • Considering the importance of economic and social factors derivates of coffee growing, the importance of the United States as its main consumer and considering the world market share to be a competitiveness reflex, this paper aims a comparative analysis of the same one in the exports of coffee of Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico to the American market using indicators such as: export quotas (CMX) and import quates (CMI), Specialization of Balassa and the Indicator of Commerce Intra - Product. The results show that Colombia has lost competitiveness in a gradual way, space that Mexico and Guatemala have been gaining; especially since the year 2012 related to the effects of the illness of the roya in the coffee tree.
