?:abstract
  • The concept "cultural self" means the coincidence of individual competence and cultural dependence. Not only the relationship between person and society, but also the variety of cultural media is the main issue for the definition of this concept. The relevance of symbolic forms in which one articulates oneself in a concrete cultural context is discussed. The essential point of a trans- or intercultural relevant concept of a cultural self is how a subject can form him- or herself if he/she considers the validity of the values of his/her self-construction.
