?:abstract
  • Starting from a pragmatic and action theory-based concept of culture it is shown how cultural preconditions appear in an autobiographical narrative interview with a Japanese potter. In this connection it is explained which narrative pattern and which semantics are used by the narrator to enact his self. This pattern implies to embed the self into social networks and to make decisions always in social contexts. This narrative pattern enables the narrator to set up a tension between the narrative construction of the past self and the present successful artist. (xsd:string)
