?:about
?:abstract
  • The EU's international partnerships and development policy is aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which provides a framework for action and a shared vision for Member States to assist partner countries. Eradicating poverty is the focus of this shared vision, but it also encompasses economic, social, and environmental aspects of sustainable development, and connects with other policy fields including peace, security and migration. This survey follows a series of previous surveys on this topic, including those conducted annually since 2009. The current survey covers the following: The perceived importance of partnering with countries outside the EU to tackle poverty; The extent to which EU citizens consider that tackling poverty should be a priority for the EU, or for national governments; The importance citizens place on the EU tackling climate change and its effects in partner countries; The importance citizens place on the EU donating COVID-19 vaccines to partner countries; The perceived success of the EU in driving positive, sustainable change around the world when it comes to addressing climate change, and tackling the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide; What citizens consider to be the main challenges for the future of partner countries; The perceived importance of supporting digitalisation, and of prioritising the promotion of education in partner countries.
