?:about
?:abstract
  • "The purpose of this edited volume is to reassess governance in universities based on a multi-level approach: the macro-, meso-, and micro-level. It aims to better understand university governance and organization, both theoretically and empirically. In order to do so this volume includes papers that examine governing strategies, structures and practices within a variety of institutional settings in Europe (e.g. Poland, France, Germany). Most importantly, the volume bridges complementary managerial practices of strategic planning, organizational design and behaviour control which are at the core of the emerging changes towards a new university archetype. Strategy formulation and reflexive self-structuring has little to no impact without controlling the implementation. Control mechanisms are meaningless without an appropriate organizational structure that corresponds with the strategic orientation." (Verlagsinformation) (xsd:string)
