?:abstract
  • This chapter discusses the way labour market policies are associated with young people’s long-term NEET risk. The level of permanent employment protection legislation is often seen as a central labour market policies that affect young peoples’ school-to-work transitions. The chapter explores the generalizability of findings by analysing 17-28 OECD countries using multilevel logistic regression analyses in which we correct the standard errors for the hierarchical clustering of young people within countries. It looks at the relationship between the level of ALMPs within a country and the likelihood to become long-term NEET. Enabling and enforcing ALMPs are not significantly associated with the likelihood to be long-term NEET. (xsd:string)
