The U.S. has anti-redistributive values. Norwegians, rather than Swedes, display the most egalitarian and pro-welfare state attitudes. Germany, although geared toward social harmony and bridging class conflict, does not provide clear class distinctions about redistribution. In all welfare state regimes, men and women disagree to roughly the same extent regarding redistribution, with women almost always being more pro-welfare than men are.
