?:abstract
  • A few scholars have argued that a positive relationship between church involvement and trust in the government exists. Although, they focus mostly upon religion and morality in combination with authority and respect. So far, we only know very little about this relationship and its explanations. To what extent is there a relationship between church involvement and trust in the government, and how could this be explained? To answer that question, the European Values Study from 2008 is used and a cross-national study has been done. This study shows that there is a little positive relationship, but that church involvement only explains a small part of the reason why people have trust in the government. (xsd:string)
